Last week, four senior girls from the high school accompanied Morah Meirav Kravetz to the Zionist Organization of America conference in New York. The following editorial is Ariela Sragowicz’s (12th) first hand account of her experience at the conference:
The Zionist Organization of America is a non-profit, pro-Israel organization that defends Israel in the media, as well as spreads awareness of anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism in high schools, universities, and communities.
Being a part of ZOA helps me express my devotion to Israel and brings awareness to those who are not educated on the topic. Israel plays a significant role in my life and in Judaism as a whole. It is the only Jewish state, and one of the only places I feel completely safe being openly Jewish.
Because we participate in teaching a weekly class about ZOA, the organization flew me and three other students to New York for the ZOA Superstar Gala. It was an amazing experience - there were 600 people, the food was delicious, and the guest speakers were phenomenal. Former President Donald Trump spoke at the gala and was awarded the ZOA Theodor Herzl Medallion for his devotion to helping Israel. It was an experience I will always cherish and remember!
