Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is world record-breaking. The tour commemorates Taylor Swift's music career by featuring her different “eras.” The tour is expected to be performed about 150 times in over 20 different countries by the end of 2024.
On October 18th, Taylor Swift kicked off the fifth and final leg of the tour in our very own Miami. She performed at the Hard Rock Stadium three nights in a row from the 18th to the 20th.
The city of Miami was tremendously impacted by Taylor’s arrival. The event brought approximately $75 million to $80 million to South Florida's economy. This included ticket sales, restaurants, merchandise, hotels, and more. The concert also helped various small businesses.
Three days before the concert, there was early merch being sold at the stadium. The lines built up quickly as fans waited for hours in line to purchase merchandise. There were many news outlets outside the stadium and many fans had the opportunity to be interviewed.
At the stadium, fans traded friendship bracelets—a tradition started by Swift’s fans. Some even traded with Taylor’s mother herself and many celebrities.
The concert itself has ten different sets (eras) and lasts three and a half hours. The eras commemorate Swift's albums and each set is a different album or two.
One of the eras includes a heavily anticipated acoustic set. In the acoustic set, towards the end of the show, Swift sings surprise songs—songs that are not part of the publicized setlist and change at every show.
Swift loves to add surprises and make each show special. As she was in Miami, she added her song “Florida!!!” to the setlist and brought out Florence and the Machine, who is featured in the song, which was very exciting for her fans.
The Eras Tour brought excitement to Miami and gave millions of fans amazing opportunities.
