In this week’s Torah portion, Parshat Tetzaveh, Hashem gives Bnei Yisroel many commandments regarding the clothing of the Kohanim. When Hashem dictated how the Kohen Gadol’s clothing should be made He explained how it was to be made by “…the wise-hearted people whom I have invested with… wisdom.” (Exodus 28:3)
What does the Pasuk mean when it says people who He had invested wisdom upon? To understand this answer, we have to fully understand what an investment is. When you invest in something you expect to gain benefit in return and this is what Hashem expects from us. He invests special talents into each and every one of us with the goal of taking our unique skills and using them to make the world a better place.
When you acknowledge the talents you have been given and use them to accomplish great things, you are repaying Hashem for the investment he bestowed upon you. When you do this, Hashem will entrust you with more good things.
Shabbat Shalom!
