This past week, Israel was subject to aimless missile attacks by Hamas yet again. But it was also under attack from another source: the media.
Hamas, a Palestinian Sunni-Islamic Fundamentalist Organization which strives to harm and terrorize the State of Israel, sent about 600 rockets in a little over a week. Luckily, Israel’s iron dome system was able to deflect the majority of the attacks. However, some missiles did slip past the defense system and reach southern Israeli communities, resulting in the death of four innocent Israelis: 58 year-old Moshe Agadi, 46 year-old Ziad Elhamamda, 21 year-old Pinhas Menahem Paschuzman, and 68 year-old Moshe Feder.
What stirs disbelief and shock from Zionists around the world is the media coverage, or lack thereof. Numerous news sources, including the BBC, have reported on the attacks, painting Israel in a villainous light. Refusing to acknowledge the fact that Israel sent rockets as a defense to the air-strike launched by Hamas, the media focuses solely on the fact that Israel struck at all.
To gain sympathy, the media uses propaganda to defame Israel. One of the most recent reports has been proven inaccurate. Recent rocket fire reportedly launched from Israel into the Gaza strip, had actually been fired from Hamas itself. The terrorist organization miscalculated the trajectory of the rockets, causing the airstrike to land in Gaza itself.
The world must stop dehumanizing Israel. The world must stop spreading false “truths” about Israel. The world must begin to strive for peace on all fronts. This can only happen if the media reports about Israel in a fair and unbiased manner.
