This week, the Warrior Word sat down and interviewed Mrs. Ciment, who is a new English teacher at Hebrew Academy. Get to know her as she shares her background and hobbies!

Emma Attias: Hi, what’s your name?
Mrs. Ciment: Ariana Grande…No I’m kidding, Adina Ciment.
EA: What’s your job here?
MC: I’m an English teacher.
EA: What was your profession prior to working at Hebrew Academy?
MC: I was a professional juggler…No not actually. I was a teacher here and at other schools, I used to direct plays at Hebrew Academy the first time I worked here, and i’ve always been a writer.
MR: What originally brought you to Hebrew Academy and what brought you back?
MC: Originally I was just looking for a job and then I left around 15 years ago but I decided to come back this year because I heard they needed an English teacher and all I was doing was working for my writing company, the Raven Writing Company, which I still do.
MR: What’s your favorite thing about working at Hebrew Academy?
MC: My amazing students! Also the teachers, everybody is just so nice.
EA: Where are you from?
MC: I grew up in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
MR: What made you move to Miami?
MC: I got married and my husband had a job here.
EA: Who are some of your favorite authors?
MC: I love Neil Gaiman’s stuff. JK Rowling obviously, Stephen King, and theres so many more I can’t just pick one.
EA: What’s your favorite Harry Potter book?
MC: Ok, so when I first read the fifth one, I hated it so much so I gave it away. I thought it was so boring, but when I reread it, it became my favorite. But I also loved the last because I cried so much.
MR: Tell us about your Harry Potter room.
MC: Ok well the wallpaper is the Hogwarts library, I have the sword of Gryffndor, the Nimbus 2000, the original Harry Potter books, like the first edition covers. I have a quidditch set, a goblet of fire, music boxes, I have the action figures, also posters.
EA: Ok last question, whats your random talents?
MC: I can juggle and I’m also really good at memorizing and quoting movie quotes. Oh and I also used to be able to walk on stilts, I used to bring them to parties; weddings. I applied to clown college like when I was like 18 but they rejected me because I was too young, saddest rejection letter ever.
