Humans of RASG: Zach Schuster

Humans of RASG, similar to Humans of New York, is a verbal snapshot of the people who make up our high school. Each human is asked to speak about themselves at length, and their monologue is recorded and transcribed verbatim. In order to keep it real, nothing is omitted. This week, the Warrior Word interviewed Zach Schuster (12th). Get to know Zach as he discusses his background and school involvement, academics and interests, and plans after graduation.

“Hi, my name is Zach Schuster. I’m an Ashkenazi Jew born in Miami. I’m an eighteen-year-old senior at Hebrew Academy. I have two brothers, one older and one younger, and the younger is in sixth grade at our school. I’m the student council president, as well as being in charge of the Friendship Circle club and part of the varsity basketball team. I'm in three APs: AP Bio, AP Literature, and AP Calculus. My favorite class is Rabbi Jack’s senior seminar class, where we learn about what to do after high school. Outside of school, I like hanging out with my friends, playing basketball, and volunteering at Friendship Circle. I learned how to balance my studies and extracurriculars by being efficient and actually giving myself time to do work rather than pushing it off. As student council president, my goal is to unite the high school and connect the grades together. I want to make our whole school closer and create our Warrior family! After graduation, I haven’t decided if I will be going to Israel, but I’m planning on going to Tulane to study business and real estate.”
