Humans of RASG, similar to Humans of New York, is a verbal snapshot of the people who make up our high school. Each human is asked to speak about themselves at length, and their monologue is recorded and transcribed verbatim. In order to keep it real, nothing is omitted. This week, the Warrior Word interviewed Joseph Haggiag (12th). Get to know Joseph as he discusses his recent move from Los Angeles, love for sports, and plans for next year.
“Hi, my name is Joseph Haggiag. I’m a 17-year-old senior at Hebrew Academy. I’m a Sephardi Jew from France, and I recently moved to Miami from Los Angeles, where I was born. I like both cities, but I prefer Miami because of the beaches. In my free time, I enjoy watching F1 racing and going fishing. I also like playing sports like tennis, soccer, and cross country. Although I haven’t joined any clubs or extracurriculars at HA yet, I used to participate in sports at my old school. I’m very close with my family, and I have four younger siblings—three brothers and a sister—who all attend Hebrew Academy. While I miss YULA, my old school, and my friends, I’m also enjoying my time at HA. I haven’t applied to any colleges yet, as I plan to take a different route by starting with online community college and then transferring. Balancing senior year with everything has been challenging as we’re still settling in after the move. My advice for senior year is to make connections with people and keep them.”
