This past week, the Hebrew Academy student council organized Spirit Week for the students to show their Chanukah spirit!
Monday started off the fun with Pajama Day! Students got to roll out of bed and immediately head to school in their comfortable pajamas! The day began with the National Honor Society ceremony, which the entire student body attended. Many students also donated blood to the annual blood drive, all while lounging in their bedtime clothes.
Tuesday was Twin Day. Students came to school in matching outfits with their “twin.” Mrs. Bengugui brought some of her amazing sfinge, and we had a Rosh Chodesh variety show, organized by a group of juniors which included a “Guess the Teacher” game, and watched the color war recap videos from each team.
After a day off on Wednesday for the New Year and the last day of Chanukah, students returned on Thursday for Jersey Day; students showed up in their favorite jerseys from all kinds of sports.
“I liked Jersey Day because it was fun to see what teams people liked,” said Tehila Ciment (11th).
In the afternoon, latkes were brought around to each classroom with a variety of toppings to decorate them with.
Friday, the last day of Spirit Week, was Shtark Day, where students arrived at school in shtark outfits. The school served Shabbat food to get us in the Shabbat mood.
“I like Shtark Day on Shabbos because the dress-up creates a Shabbos vibe,” shared Tamar Van Dam (10th).
The student council and staff did a great job with Spirit Week this year, and students look forward to future fun!
