Today Hebrew Academy announced the hiring of the new high school principal, Dr. Eliezer Jones. Dr. Jones will start for the next academic year 2020-2021.
Dr. Jones is currently the Head of School at Akiba-Schechter, an Orthodox Jewish Day School in Chicago. He has also served as the General Studies Principal of Valley Torah High School in Los Angeles. Throughout his career, he served numerous roles including the positions of Director of Educational Innovation at the Institute for University-School Partnership at Yeshiva University and Associate Regional Director of West Coast NCSY.
Dr. Jones has worked for over twenty years in the field of Jewish education. With his deep experience in this field, Dr. Jones will bring a new facet to the high school by taking it to the next level.
With a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, Dr. Jones has worked with all ages in clinical settings, such as Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Child Guidance Clinic. Dr. Jones studied at Yeshiva Shor Yashuv in New York and received Rabbinic Ordination from the Yeshiva of Los Angeles.
Dr. Lieber will take on the position of assistant principal at the Hebrew Academy, and said she is excited to work with Dr. Jones in the coming year.
